Lake Gaston’s 350 miles of beautiful shoreline stretches 34 miles across North Carolina and Virginia State boundaries, making it convenient and easy access from interstates I-95 and I-85. Its close proximity to Raleigh, NC and Richmond, VA is a plus for those considering retiring to Lake Gaston or investing in a vacation home. Most importantly, because Lake Gaston was created to produce electrical power and is nestled between Kerr Dam on the west and Gaston Dam on the east, it is the only NC or VA Lake controlled by Dominion Power with a plus or minus one foot water level fluctuation. This makes Lake Gaston an ideal location for water sports enthusiasts, fisherman as well as those just out for cruising or swimming.
